The 5 worst lipsticks I've tried
A few days ago, I posted about my favorite lipsticks at the moment, but today I want to talk about those lipsticks that I was excited to try, but when I did it was disappointing.
PS. Click on the pictures if for some reason you'd like to check them out!
1. Covergirl - Star Wars Colorlicious Lipstck $7.35
All I can say about this product is that it was a waste of money. These lipsticks came out a couple of years ago, and I was so excited to try them! They had fun and weird colors, and I worn one of them when the Star Wars movie came out, but I was surprised when I noticed that after 10 minutes I didn't have lipstick anymore. Seriously. This is the kind of lipstick that needs to be applied three times before the color pops out, but even after doing this, the product goes away easily. I think I just worn it two times and now I just keep it "just in case." I don't know in what case yet, but you get what I mean.
2. Colourpop - Any matte liquid lipstick $6.00
When I discovered Colourpop, I was obsessed, and I'm not going to lie, I still am. This is actually my favorite makeup brand because they have high quality products for an affordable price. It's because of this reason that I have bought almost all their products #cantstopwontstop. So why do I hate their matte liquid lipsticks so bad? Because like I said, I've tried many of them, and still I can't feel comfortable with this formula. The thing is that Colourpop has beautiful matte shades, but they dry out my lips really bad, and it gets all messy every time I eat something. It's also really hard to work with if I don't apply a lip pencil before, and I don't know, it's just a disappointment. I hope they change this formula at some point.
3. Hard Candy - Fierce Effects High Shine Argan Oil Infused Lipstick $5.00
I'll say it: This formula sucks. Like it describes, it's really shiny, and doesn't last in your lips at all! I felt really bad after I tried it, because I was expecting something more, but I have a tip if you've bought a lipstick like this one before. In order to make it last on your lips, apply translucent powder before you apply the lipstick. It actually works and you don't feel like you wasted your money! Well, maybe you did, but at least you can get something out of it.
PS. If you would like a black lipstick, I recommend you the lippie stix from Colourpop called "Bull Chic."
4. Wet n Wild - MegaLast Liquid Lip Color $2.99
OK, maybe I'm being unfair. I know this is a really cheap lipstick, but I just don't like it. I haven't tried many Wet n Wild products because although it's one of the cheapest makeup brands, I would prefer to save that money to buy something that actually works. I've heard that they have some good lipsticks, but this one is just not my favorite. I do like the color, but it feels really sticky and doesn't last too long, which is what they promise.
5. Milani - Color Statement Lipstick Sweet Nectar $4.99
I'm mentioning this product because Spring is coming and apparently orange is going to be the new trend, so if you'd like to buy an orange lipstick, maybe look for another one. Don't get me wrong, I love the Milani Color Statement Lipsticks Collection, except for this shade. I think all the other tones are well pigmented, but I don't know what happened with this one. When I swatch it on my hand, it looks beautiful, but when I apply it on my lips, it's like 'eh'. It transfers easily, it's hard to apply, and although I don't hate it, I don't love it either.
So there you go, the worst lipsticks I've tried. I'm sorry if you do like some of these products, but they just didn't work for me.
Anyways, let me know if you liked it, and don't forget to subscribe to stay tuned to my posts!
Until next time,
