My Skincare Routine
Back in 2015, I started getting a lot of acne, so I know how awful it feels when you are trying to get rid of it, but nothing seems to work. Although I never cared about it before that time because I thought it was normal for teenagers. Nevertheless, it became my biggest worry when I couldn't find a way to stop it. Weeks went by and my face wouldn't get any better. I tried so many products... I bought the "Spin for Perfect Skin" and it didn't have any effect on my skin. I tried cleansers and moisturizers from Neutrogena, CeraVe, Cetaphil, etc; and my acne would only get worse. I actually had to take pills to get rid of it, since it stressed me out so much and my self-esteem was so low.
I don't have acne anymore, and honestly, I didn't find a product that worked for me until I started taking pills to treat it, but I have found some products that work for me now, and although I don't know if they would have worked when I had bad acne, these products have helped me not to get those horrible pimples back.
As I said at the beginning, these products may not work for you. I'm sorry if you came here to find that amazing product that finally cures your acne, but I'm not an expert and can't tell you exactly what you need because we all have different skin types. Also, the products I use can be found in the drugstore. They're cheap, they're good, and guess what? Even if they don't end up working for your skin, you won't feel horrible because you broke the bank (that's how I felt). If you don't know what to do to get a clear and fresh skin, try not stressing out so much. That only makes it worse. Trust me. What I can tell you is to read different reviews on the Internet (if for some reason you can't get in touch with an expert), find people who seem to have your same problem, and try the products that worked for them.
OK... Getting back on track. Here are the products I use:
1. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes $4.47
These are my FAVORITE drugstore makeup removers. They are amazing. I've tried a couple of other brands' cleansing towelettes, but most of the time they are too dry and it hurts when I take my makeup off, since it feels like I'm fighting with my skin (that's not a good sign). With the Neutrogena ones it's different though. I've heard some people say that they're too oily, but that's not a problem to me. My sister has oily skin and she loves them too!
2. BI-FACIL Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover $15.00
I got this on my Honeymoon as a gift from a Sephora employee and it works! What I do is to put a Q-tip inside of the bottle, and then clean my eyelashes as if I was applying mascara. I do this every night so my eyelashes can stay healthy, long, and thick.
3. Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser $4.99
I recently started using this product and I'm pretty happy with it. I used to clean my face only with the towelettes and if you're doing the same, then you have to stop. Even though once you use the towelettes it looks like all the makeup is gone, it's not. I used to use regular soap, but those are usually not gentile to your face. I decided to try this one because I've tried others from Neutrogena and they were too strong for my sensitive skin. I use this two times a day, at night and in the morning.
4. Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer $12.24
I runt out of my Neutrogena Moisturizer, but decided to try the Aveeno one because I heard many good things about it, and I'm not surprised why. I love this moisturizer because as soon as I apply it on my face, it feels like a baby's butt, and it keeps it moisturized until the end of the day. I love it!
TWO TIMES A WEEK
Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion $79.00
I know... this exfoliant is pricey, but it works! I talked about this before when I got it on my BoxyCharm and said that I was going to put it on the test. It actually works! I'll post some before and after pictures in the future :) I like it because my skin looks so clear and clean after I use it. I love to apply it before I do my makeup because it makes it look so smooth!
ONE TIME A WEEK
1. Bioré Charcoal Pore Strip $7.49
These strips are a game changer. I have tons of blackheads on my nose and it has been hard to find a product that actually gets rid of them. I have tried different strips from Bioré, but these are by far my favorites. These take all of your blackheads off and your nose area stays clean for a long time, compared to other strips. These are amazing and I recommend them to anyone who wants to get rid of those annoying blackheads.
2. Face masks
I'm sorry, but I can't find any website that's selling this product at the moment. I got these on an Ipsy bag and they're so refreshing! I still haven't found a face mask that I don't like though haha I think most of them are good, so I don't have a favorite. I personally want to try the new L'Oréal clay mask! I may or may not post a review about it soon ;)
THANK YOU FOR READING ME! You can watch how I apply these products on my face below.
Until next time!
